I first came across this awesome label when we were in Melbourne last year (where it seems that everything is leaning towards fair trade/ ethical/ eco). I was immediately drawn to their bright colours, playful patterns and unusual cuts. But what I love the most about Bhalo is that all their fabrics have been woven, dyed and embroidered by people of a rural Bangladesh community. They not only pay workers a fair wage and help to improve the lives of those they employ, but also give you the opportunity to see where and how your clothes are made. In a world where we are so disconnected from everything we buy and consume, I really find this to be a breath of fresh air! One of their dresses is going to make the perfect addition to next years summer wardrobe.
