AFTERNOON READS

My afternoon treat is taking half an hour to sit down and browse through my favourite blogs.  Obviously I don't have much time for browsing the internet these days but I still find it a place of great inspiration (and beauty).  So as soon as Ayana has gone down for her nap (I don't like to be on the computer when she's around)  I creep off to prep dinner, do my household chores, make myself a coffee and switch on the computer.  Some of these blogs I have been following since I first discovered blogging, while others I have only recently discovered.    I have to admit that my interests have changed quite a lot over the years (funny what motherhood does!) and therefore so have the blogs I read.  Anyway I'm always excited to stumble upon a beautiful new one so I thought I'd share my reading list with you;
Lifestyle
Junkaholique - This has long been my favourite blog.  Written by an extremely talented English jeweler/ junk collector/ crafter/ creator/ adventurer living on the Isle of Wight with her Japanese husband and adorable young daughter.

Practising Simplicity - A beautifully written and always inspiring blog by Melbourne based writer/ photographer and mother of 2.5 children.  If you need inspiration on simplifying your life and getting back to basics then this is a good place to start.

Reading My Tea Leaves - A recently discovered, beautiful blog about life in a teeny tiny New York apartment.

A Well Traveled Woman - The dreamy, bohemian  life and times of single mama of two boys.

House of habit - Another long time favourite of mine (the photography gets me every time)!  A mama of four boys living in the dessert, adventuring in their old RV and living life to its fullest.

Oh Dear Drea - A well known healthy lifestyle blog written by a very open and honest foodie/ crafter/ gardner/ mama of one from Florida.

Camellia Fiber Company - A very recently discovered blog about the owner of a natural hand spun wool company in Nashville.  The photos (and these ridiculously adorable Alpacas) had me scrolling through the whole blog in one afternoon).

Food
Petite Kitchen -  A delicious New Zealand food blog written by Mondays Wholefoods owner Eleanor.  All the recipes are wholesome and healthy yet oh so tasty.  I recently made the no knead bread from her blog.

Shutterbean - Many great recipes on here.  I also love the meal prep posts, they inspired me to do the same and my life is SO much easier because of it.

Oh Dear Drea - Yep this one gets a double mention because I have used so many of her recipes!  Everything is vegan and made from scratch.  She has a cookbook coming out soon and I'm pretty excited to get my hands on it.

A Beautiful Mess - More of a DIY blog than a food one but I have tried quite a few of their recipes and they've all turned out really well.  I especially loved the Vegetarian Tikka Masala, the Red Cabbage Stirfry and the Mustard Brussels Sprouts. I look forward to trying more.

Health
Wellness Mama - This is pretty much my natural go-to guide!  It has so much great information in it and I've looked up everything from oil pulling to natural toothpaste to household cleaners.

Sarah Wilson -  She's a big 'no sugar' advocate.  I didn't use this but learned quite a lot from her I Quite Sugar website (she offers an 8 week program to ditch sugar).  Her blog is full of healthy lifestyle/ eating advice.

Well I think that's just about it.  I know there are others that I peek at from time to time but these are the ones I have bookmarked at the moment.  Hope you discover something new. x
